Navigating the Lawn, Pt. 5 - _TNY_8747

An adult male zebra spider (Salticus scenicus) climbing around on blades of grass on the lawn. I think this shot brings a great perspective to how incredibly different a common lawn looks when you're just four or five millimeters long!

 

The males in the Salticus genus grow these huge chelicerae visible underneath the pedipalps when they reach adulthood.
