The Foxy Emperor - _TNY_0189

This is the first shot I've managed of a species known as the two-tailed pasha (Charaxes jasius) - but the alternative name, the foxy emperor really sounds much cooler to me.

This is a female and she has just climbed out of her chrysalis and waiting for the wings to harden so the aforemntioned double tails are still a bit floppyas you can see and the colours are also a bit less vibrant than they would become a little after this.

Hopefully, I can get some more shots of this one, especially with the wings open as they are quite spectacular in mainly black with a thick orange edge. Another detail is that this is the only Charaxes species which can be found in Europe as the resta are African species.
