Fitting Location, Pt. 3 - _TNY_0977
This is a female orange-spotted drone fly (Eristalis anthophorina) which I found, together with a couple more in the process of laying eggs in the waterline at the Drevviken nature reserve in southeastern Stockholm in late May.
The Swedish vernacular name for this is "strandslamfluga" where "strand" means beach so it really was right at home there.
