Ball of Fuzz, Pt. 2 - _TNY_7083S2

This is still very early in the season for bug photography up here in Stockholm, Sweden, but things are beginning to wake up.

This ball of fuzz is a large bee-fly (Bombylius major), also known as the dark-edged bee-fly because of the colouration of the wings.

I found it buzzing around from one grape hyacinth (Muscari botryoides) to another in front of my house a couple of days ago and I was very pleased with getting a couple of shots of it as they often are quite shy and skittish.

Part 1 shows it from the front here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/53700731514/
