Wifescarer - _TNY_9829
My wife originally weren't to big on bugs and spiders, but have softened quite a lot on them over the years. When she saw this crab spider on the patio table this summer however, it wasn't popular at all.
It is a female of one of the ground crab spiders - the genus Xysticus. The exact species is Xysticus luctuosus and I've found mentions of the English common name mournful ground crab spider.
Mrs. Crab here got a shot glass over her on a side table and after dinner I placed her on this pipevine leaf and got a couple of shots.
