I Make Sleeping Bags! - _TNY_4553S2

The hazel-leaf roller weevil (Apoderus coryli) is a bit peculiar. Not only dooes it look like it came out of a cartoon, but on top of that, the feale rolls up hazel-leaves with an egg inside and when the egg hatches, the larvae stay inside its little sleeping bag, eating the leaf from the inside out.

They are fairly active beetles, but this one stayed still for long enough that I managed to take tow shots with different parts in focus which I subsequently focus-stacked using Zerene Stacker for a little added depth of field.
