Thighdentification - _TNY_6080

When processing this shot of a crane fly, I assumed identification would be difficult and that I'd end up with Tipuloidea sp. or something similar.

 

When asking in a Facebook group about flies, I however got an immediate answer that this is a short-palped cranefly (Limonia nubeculosa)! Apparently the black bands around the thighs is a unique identifier.
