Dark Mode, Pt. 2 - _TNY_7599

Here is a copper peacock beetle (Elaphrus cupreus) I found on a sandy patch next to the Stenbäcken creek in the Tyresta National Park.

 

This one was unusually dark in colour. I've lightened it a bit in Photoshop to bring out some detail, but there and then it had an steely blueish black hue. Compare it to this specimen (from the exact same place) two years ago: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52267322328/
