The Trees are Full of Emeralds - _TNY_9986

The alder leaf beetles (Plagiosterna aenea) eat leves of alder trees both as larvae and adults so I imagine they aren't particularily popular with the trees if they had an opinion.

For me however, they are a neat addition and reaily available in farily large numbers. With them being so shiny though, it really is a bit tricky to capture their sheen properly.
