Comfy Seat - _TNY_8853
My wife has planted some blue globe-thistles (Echinops bannaticus) in front of the house and they have been a permaent attraction for both bumblebees and wasps.
There is actually a crack in between two bricks where the mortar is missing and it appears a wasp queen decided it was a good place to nest.
We've had zero issues with them there and I believe this one comes from that nest.
From what I've gathererd, this is a male median wasp (Dolichovespula media) - Swedens' largest eusocial wasp save for the European hornet.
He looks pretty comfy there in a sea of tiny stars, right?
