Dirt Weevil - _TNY_7648

Here is a dor beetle (Anoplotrupes stercorosus), a species which belong to the earth-boring dung beetles.

 

The Swedish name for these are "tordyvel" (with this specifically being a "skogstordyvel" where "skogs" means forest).

 

Tord is a very old word for "dirt" while "yvel" is a synonym for "vivel" which is Swedish for weevil. Which means this is a dirt weevil then, right?
