As a bug photographer, you quickly discover that thistles are good. Not only do thay attract loads of different bugs and taste so good animals don't leave them even when you get close - but on top of that, the gorgeous rich colour also make for a killer background.
Here is a male black-striped longhorn beetle (Stenurella melanura) on a thistle in th Paradiset Nature Reserve in Huddinge, south of Stockholm, Sweden.
