Blue/Purple Preference - _TNY_9082
According to research from the 1950s, the lime swallowtail (Papilio demoleus) has a built-in preference for blue and purple flowers when looking for food while yellow, green and blue-green colours are ignored.
The one here was hanging from the chrysalis it just crawled out of at the Haga Ocean butterfly house in Solna, Sweden on the last of July 2024.
