Pretty Parasite - _TNY_8915

Babrbut's cuckoo-bee (Bombus barbutellus) is a broodparasitic bumblebee which targets the garden bumblebee (Bombus hortorum) and take over their nests.

 

This particular one was willing to have its photo taken on some pink flowers near the old miller cottage at Åva-Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park, Sweden in late July of 2024.
