Finally Found One, Pt. 2 - _TNY_7499

I've only ever seen one four-banded flower bee (Anthophora quadrimaculata), several years ago and I *almost* got a shot of it then - but didn't so it was with great pleasure that I discovered this male patrolling the low thyme plants in front of my neighbours' house and trying to chase away all other bees and bugs from "his" thyme. I can't say that he was succsessful in this task - but I was in shooting him!

I noticed that for every lap he did around his patch (about 3 meters / 10 feet), he almost always seemed to land on the asphalt in the same spot so I sat down next to that spot hoping to get lucky and as you can see, it worked out great.

This one was in a hurry so every stop he made was just for one or two seconds so I dove in here and snapped a single shot which worked out.
