Gem on the House, Pt. 2 - _TNY_7658

The common green furrow bee (Lasioglossum morio) is a small species with a lovely olive green metallic sheen. With a body length of 5-6 mm it is about half as long as a honeybee.

I am fortunate to have a bunch of these living outside our house (in Stockholm, Sweden) and when I don't find them in flowers or on leaves, they like to sit perched on the white bricks of the facade.

This particular one was shot at 3.7:1 magnification using the Canon MP-E65mm lens.
