Deltawing Camo, Pt. 2 - _TNY_0185

This geometrid moth is known as the red-green carpet (Chloroclysta siterata).

 

It's a kind of funny name, but the nice thing is that the closer you look at it, the prettier it gets. Do zoom in and have a look - that camouflage pattern on all the scales really look cool to me. Not showing in the photo (because it can't) is that the colour of it shift a bit with the light. Also, they change a bit between green and reddish brown with the season.

 

As you may recognise from the yellow background, this another one of all those moths I've found on the side of the house when coming home from work really early in the morning. I saw this particular one at 00:42 which maybe makes it late in the evening instead, I don't know.
