Bar, Interrupted - _TNY_7052

The name orange-banded shoemaker (Catonephele orites) is pretty self-explanatory when you see a male (but not when looking at the female: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/53462466647/). Since the orange bar is interrupted, this South-American species is also known as the broken banner and the host plant which leaves the caterpillars eat is called Alchornea costaricensis.
