Cool Colour Shift - _TNY_6853

Here is a great exmple of how different the colour of the green-banded swallowtail (Papilio palinurus), also known as the emerald peacock can appear depending on what angle you look at it and from where the light comes from.

This particular specimen flew past my feet and from above, the colour looked straight up yellow and then it landed high up in a tree and from this angle, it is pretty far from yellow, right?

All of these are the same species and would look the same from the same angle: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/53676184796/
