Say Hello to Sparkles, Pt. 2 - _NY_6815
There are several sun jumper (Heliophanus) species which look very similar, so I am unable to say which exact species this juvenile one is.
What I do know is that I find the way it sparkles all over the abdomen like that is gorgeous. I haven't seen that in any adults, so perhaps it's a juvenile thing?
Since I know the magnification level (3.7:1), the sensor size and the original size of the photo I can take measurements in the phot and calculate size. This gives that I can say that the spider here is 2.6 mm / .1" in body length.
