Inner Glow, Pt. 3 - _TNY_8224

A black-banded spider wasp (Anoplius viaticus) on the hunt for wolf spiders to paralyze for food for the next generation.

 

This species appears quite early in the year due to the fact that unlike most other Pompilinae, A. viaticus overwinters as an adult in a deep burrow and get a head start on the competition.
