Second Attempt - _TNY_6798

I was at the Haga Ocean butterfly house yesterday and spotted this peleides blue morpho (Morpho peleides) resting on a large leaf that was in the water right on the edge of the rainfall area - with its wings open!

Looked like a potential nice shot so I set up my camera with the tripod, framed it, set focus using Live View, adjusted settings and was pretty much set to pull the (wireless) trigger when another blue morpho saw my subject and decided to check in.

Unfortunately, this made the butterfly decid to close its wings - right before my shot.

Bummer, right? But how come there is a shot up top here then? Well, I packed up my gear and went looking for other shots and when I came back ten minutes later, she was still there - but had opened her wings again!

This time I was faster so there were no other interrupting visitors and I got the shot.

Really enjoying the glimmer of the water drops surrounding her here.
