Stumbled over this old shot from my mother-in-law's garden of one of her Chinese peonies (Paeonia lactiflora) with a nice contrast with it in the sunshine and the one in the foreground in the shadow. This variant is quite fittingly known as "Bowl of Beauty".
These are popular with chafers who like to just get lost in that yellow center and much away at the pollen. I have found both copper chafers and bee beetles in there.
