Red Builder, Pt. 2 - _TNY_5121

The red wasp (Vespula rufa) is a type of eusocial ground wasp.

 

This little buddy from the Sandemar nature reserve was busy gnawing at a fence post to get building material for the nest. They chew it and mixed with saliva it is the base for that paper-like building material.
