Nearsighted - _TNY_4406

A fourth instar caterpillar of the common yellow swallowtail (Papilio machaon) at 1.2:1 magnification on a leaf of my mother-in-law's purple angelica (Angelica gigas).

 

These guys eat quite a lot so it us handy that the purple angelica has huge leaves. I have also found these little eating machines on her dill which is another one on the list of host plants.
