Stage Diver - _TNY_8959
Today at "my" local butterfly house, I met a really nice young couple and we got talking about the butterflies and eventually the rest of my bug photography and touched on spiders. She immediately said that jumpers were her favourite spiders, so I figured I better post a cute one in case they check in here, right?
This is what I think is Sweden's most common jumper - the zebra spider. The scientific name of this one is Salticus scenicus - and the entire family of jumping spiders is called Salticidae.
The name stems from the Latin "Saltus", meaning "jump" or "leap" and scenicus on top of that means "theatrical". Jumping on the stage, really.
