Shortcut to Payoff, Pt. 2 - _TNY_4905

While walking as far north as I've been in the Mjällådalen nature reserve, I, together with my son, came to a part where the path went on bridges along the side of the river - but eroding of the sand had caused a large section of it to fall into the water so the path was closed and we were directed to take a much longer path up through the wood before returning down on the other side of the destroyed part.

I decided to take a little shortcut so we climbed over some quite steep sand slopes and eventually made it over that way instead.

When on the other side, we pretty soon realised that we needed to head back, but before doing so we went through some pretty hig meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) and in it was this rather striking Lepturobosca virens flower longhorn which I obviously took some photos of.

Looking at this shot, I think it looks like it is wearing a choker and I cant unsee it now.

Exactly one month later we visited again and in a different part of the nature reserve, I came across another one of these, also on meadowsweet. Photo of that one here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/53114285445/
