Winter Cutie, Pt. 2 - _TNY_6868S4
When you are out and about flying during the nights in April in Sweden, you better suit up. This male small chocolate-tip (Clostera pigra) certainly has taken this advice and is sporting an impressively thick fur overall - just look at those legs!
This particular one was sleeping outside my window but had chosen a spot real close to the actual window so I had some trouble getting the lens in close enough but it worked out with a little squeezing of the diffuser.
Since it was staying still (as it was sleeping), I managed a four-exposure focus stack here for more depth of field.
Part one is a single shot, but slightly closer here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52038860298/
I also got another four-exposure focus stack, more from the side here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52413245019/
I have only seen this species two times. Here, on April 26th of 2022 and the first time on April 27th 2019 - almost to the day three years earlier. Clearly a species for late April here, right?
