Giant Shot of Giant Swallotail - _TNY_6521P4
This black and yellow beauty is a king swallowtail (Papilio thoas).
The image here is made up of four 50 megapixel shots stitched together using Kolor Autopano Giga into a single 194 MP shot.
This means that not only is it possible to see the butterfly resting on one of the leaves, but you can zoom in all the way and see details like the hair on its body and that it has a small droplet of water on its head if you want (and why wouldn't you?).
While Flickr has seriously improved the viewable size compared to a couple of years ago, you won't get *all* the way in on Flickr. For that you either need to download the photo or "view it in original size" here:
On my 3840x1600 monitor, viewing this in 100%, I can barely fit the head and the body of the butterfly in frame.
For a photo of what the ventral side (ie underside) looks like, please have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/53451256273/
