I am Fire, I am Death, Junior Edition, Pt. 2 - _TNY_5299
My son (aged twelve at the time) found this adorable little baby grass snake (Natrix natrix) curled up on the path (where I almost stepped on it) in Åva-Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park in Stockholm, Sweden.
Despite being absolutely tiny and utterly incapable of inflicting any form of damage (even adult grass snakes are harmless), this one tried its best to do scary lunges towards our fingers before Daniel picked it up when it for some reason calmed down.
For some reason, it made me think of those Tiny Smaug drawings with a baby version of the dragon from The Hobbit movies guarding a single gold coin.

I took a short video of Daniel and the snake where the surroundings are better shown, which can be found here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51421098497/
We also managed a couple of shots of just the snake with no Daniel in frame here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51557298408/
