Eye to Eye, Pt. 2 - _TNY_5641

Up close with a male ruddy darter (Sympetrum sanguineum) showing some very nice detail on his compound eyes.

 

We actually have two very similar species in Sweden, the vagrant darter and the common darter - but both of those species have some yellow on their legs while this one have them all black and thus a ruddy one.
