Trying Too Hard - VID_20230718_003729

Here is a short clip of a brown chafer beetle (Serica brunnea) outside my window and how it feigns dying when disturbed.

 

In this clip, I managed to actually touch it before it reacted, but most of the time they seem to do this well before I have gotten close enough with the camera.
