Melon Munching - _TNY_5135
A copper chafer (Protaetia cuprea) munching away at some water melon at my mom's summer house in Värmdö, Sweden.
Chafers have this cool feature where they, unlike most other beetles have a slit along the lower side of the elytra (the carapace over the abdomen) so they don't have to open the elytra to get their flight wings out. The wings can pop out, stiletto style and they fly away without opening thing which I presume does wonders for how much air drag they face.
