Rainbow Eyes, Pt. 4 - _TNY_3659
While I was brushing my teeth one morning this summer, my wife pointed out a small fly on the wall and told me to get rid of it.
Seeing that this was a long-legged fly (Dolichopodidae), I obviously went for my camera instead.
Our small guest turned out to be a male Sciapus platypterus with the most wonderful rainbow-coloured eyes and while he buzzed around and landed on the floor, on the bathroom cabinet and the wall, he still allowed me to get shots of him on all backgrounds before I trapped him using a glass and brough him outside.
