Yellow! Pt. 3 - _TNY_2057

Looking at this male great yellow mormon (Papilio lowii), it isn't entirely clear why it has gotten that name. If you instead look at the female (like here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52845038432/) it is easier as she is at least partially yellow.

 

Other names for this species is Asian swallowtail and Low's swallowtail.

 

I was really happy with this guy as he chose to give me photo opportunities with his wings in various positions.
