Here's a cute female European wool carder bee (Anthidium manicatum) on one of her favorite flowers, a house leek (Sempervivum tectorum)
Did you notice the tree round bumps on its forehead? Those are simple eyes, also known as "ocelli" and don't offer much help in the form of traditional eyesight, but they can tell dark from light and help the bee (these are not exclusive to bees) avoid predators (or large hands).
