Olive Green Gem - _TNY_2888
I am fortunate to have bees like this literally just outside my house. This is a common green furrow-bee (Lasioglossum morio) and it and a whole bunch of its brethren can be found among the flowers at the front of our house.
It's a rather smallish species at just 5-6 mm (~.2") compared to a honey bee which is at least twice that, but when they let you get as close as this (3.3:1 magnification), they look pretty cool. I considered editing out the rainbow sparkles in the eye, but decided to leave it in as I think it looked quite cool.
