In order to feed the butterflies at the Haga Ocean butterfly house, ideally you would have flowers which they can visit and drink nectar from. But when you're open all year round and you're located in Stockholm, Sweden, keeping enough flowers around during a long dark winter isn't a viable option.
The solution which seems to work the best for them is plastic flowers doused with sugar water.
Here it is a giant tree nymph (Idea leuconoe) which has landed on the feeding station - and made for a quite pretty picture.
