The First Emerald (Cropped) - _TNY_3114C
Back in late May, I posted a shot of an emerald peacock (Papilio palinurus) that a young girl found at the Haga Ocean butterfly house for me after I first showed her one. This is the one I showed her first, resting on the side of a tree.
I actually posted this shot before, but this is a tighter crop which I liked so much that I decided it was worth posting "again". The uncropped version can be found here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52920313168/
The green colour is iridescent and quite tricky to capture in a photo. Depending on the light, it can be a pale cool green or very deep yellowy hue.
Here's the other one: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52917346784/
