Noob Friendly - _TNY_3732

I met this dor beetle (Anoplotrupes stercorosus) while walking near Tyresta by in the Tyresta National Park, south of Stockholm, Sweden a couple of days ago.

 

Dor beetles are excellent beginner subjects for a macro photographer. Not only are they both quite common and slow moving, but also fairly large and have a nice metallic sheen alojng the edges of that carapace.
