Autumn Surprise, Pt. 5 - _TNY_1225

On October 9th (of 2022), my wife and I packed coffee and some bisquits and even managed to convince our son to join us as we went to the Oxnö klippbad which is a popular spot to go swimming in summer.

 

This day really was a wonderful one with great weather and to my surprise, there were actually quite a lot of male common darters (Sympetrum striolatum) still out and about.

 

Some of them were a bit shy, but I managed to ninja close to a couple of them. I wasn't expecting large bugs like this so I only had the MP-E65mm on the camera which meant I had to get within 10.1 cm (4") of them to get them in focus. Still pleased with the results though - especially for this which is very late in the bug season for up here in Stockholm, Sweden.
