Pokemon, Pt. 3 - _TNY_5214

The muslin moth (Diaphora mendica) has a very distinct sexual dimorphism where the male (this one) is dark grey in colour while his future wife (which he will locate using those beautiful antennae) is instead white with small black spots - very pretty so I hope to find one such as well.

The way its face looks here makes me think of a cross between an owl and a Pokemon with generous amounts of cute sprinkled all over it.

This is a 1.4:1 magnification shot using the Canon MP-E65mm and like so many other of my moth models, I found him sleeping outside the window when coming home from work one early morning.

For a portrait shot but where it looks very cute - have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/50341804393/

And for a similar shot but with a little more background colour, have a look here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51735816836/

Three photos of the even fuzzier (yes, really) and very orange caterpillar here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/48478783692/
