Heart with Legs, Pt. 3 - _TNY_9026 (In Explore 3/5 2023)
The tiny - but very red - little guy here is a red velvet mite known as Trombidium latum. Typically, it isn't very easy to figure out exactly which species thes guys belong to, but T. latum here have these white ring-shaped spots on them so it definitely is that one.
This is another bug species that would make an excellent plush toy - it is basically a soft pillow already, even if it with a body length of 2 mm might need to be upscaled a bit.
Another thing it sort of reminds me of is a human heart. I got a couple of more shots of this one coming later on and you'll see the heart shape better in one of those.
