Porcelain and Bronze - _TNY_9887
Back in late July, me, the wife and our son were spending some time at my mom's summer house in Värmdö, Sweden. On a whim, we got into the car and went for a trip to explore other parts of Värmdö and at one point we came down to the small boat pier at Skägga Brygga.
After spending some time looking at all the boats passing by through the strait there, we went back to the car when I noticed something shimmering on a white picket fence. I closed in with the camera and found this nymph of the bronze shieldbug (Troilus luridus).
This is a fairly large, predatory shieldbug species and with this being a nymph, it hasn't got the appearance of the adult form which is more brown with a green tinge. The nymphs in this instar kind of make me think they're made from porcelain and some metal like maybe bronze - pretty neat!
