Looking at this quickly, it is easy to think that this is just a European peacock (Aglais io) on fome Forbes' glory-of-the-snow (Scilla forbesii), but look again - There is a second butterfly there, but with its wings folded.
The underside of the wings is specificlly designed to be as inconspicuous as possible so you are axcused if you missed it.
I think the one showing the red is the male and the one with the wings closed is the female and I found them in the flowers outside a neighbour's house in mid-April.
