Two for One - _TNY_5177

This happy couple which have lined up so nicely at the center of a dandelion that they at first look like a single beetle are a couple of metallic wood-boring beetles (Anthaxia quadripunctata).

 

The female will then locate a pine tree and lay here eggs there and the larvae will eat the wood until they are ready to pupate.
