I Climbed This - _TNY_4459P2

The Swedish High Coast has the greatest land raise in the world. As the glaciers melted after the last ice age, the land began to rais at an unprecedented pace - since the ice age, this area has risen about 300 meters which on a geological scale is cheetah fast and have given the region unusually tall cliffs - and made it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The shot is taken from the Skuleberget, which has a (or technically four) Via Ferrata climbing routes up the almost 300 meter (900') almost vertical cliff face. The wire seen in the bottom right corner is the one you follow up the route. This is two exposures combined into one panorama using Kolor Autopano Giga, a great pice of stitching software which unfortunately have been discontinued.

My wife grew up in Härnösand, not very far from Skuleberget and we have made it a tradition to celebrate our wedding anniversary by climbing this wall (nearly) every year - though this particular year we were a day late.

The mountain on the left in this shot is Getsvedjeberget (meaning "goat swidden mountain" where "swidden" is the practice of slash and burn of vegetation for cultivation). There is a rather spectacular rock there which me and the wife visited in 2022 - here's a shot of her on it: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52281263281/

Also, I made a 360-180 panorama from there here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52310245661/ (only viewable from a computer and not from mobile/tablet).
