A female marmalade hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus) which posed nicely on a shrubby cinquefoil (Dasiphora fruticosa) when I was out trying out the new front of my diffuser after losing the old one when it fell in the water on an earlier trip.
My diffuser is held together and to the flash by small but powerful neodymium magnets and on this latest version (which I refer to as "v7") I have doubled the number of magnets on the new part to prevent the front being pulled off by the wind again,
Here's a short video clip showing the previous version and how it mounts to the flash head: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51729821709/
