Un-Cute, Pt. 2 - _TNY_9153
Weevils are generally considered very cute as far as beetles go. I have shown this and another photo of a lesser pine weevil (Hylobius pinastri) which I found munching on a branch of a small tree next to a small forest road outside Härnösand, Sweden, and nobody seems to think it is cute at all.
This one, along with the other two Hylobius species we have here are major pests for the foresting industry, very much damaging the pine trees so perhaps it is a good thing that they aren't ûber-cute?
