Maximum Shimmer - _TNY_1683

Here is a Peleides blue morpho (Morpho peleides). The blue part is metallic and iridescent, but this particular one was probably the one I've seen with the most shimmering.

 

It had landed (and stayed extremely flat) on top of a leaf which was around two meters / 6'6" up so I had to mess a bit with the tripod to reach all the way up, but it worked out alright.

 

I'm not sure if this one just was unusually purple or if the position high up under the translucent roof made it look that way, but it looked quite cool and a bit different from the "regular" ones.
